Today, Piedmont Heart Cardiothoracic Surgery at Augusta has the most comprehensive and innovative heart and vascular service in the region. We also take pride in providing care across the continuum including acute hospital care, extended care, skilled nursing rehabilitation, outpatient cardiac rehabilitation and home health care.

Zachary Paul Baker, MD

About

Zachary Baker, M.D., earned his medical degree from The American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed his residency at West Virginia University. He went on to complete his cardiothoracic fellowship at The University of Arizona. Dr. Baker is board certified in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.

Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Baker was the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Tidal Health and also the medical director of Thoracic Oncology. He specializes in cardiothoracic surgery and his special interests include general cardiac surgery as well as general thoracic surgery.

In his spare time, Dr. Baker enjoys skiing, camping, traveling and spending time with his family.

Dr. Baker is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.

He specializes in the treatment of coronary artery disease, complex aortic disease, structural heart disease, valvular disease and atrial fibrillation through the use of open, endovascular, minimally invasive and transcatheter treatment therapies, including the Convergent Procedure for Atrial fibrillation.
