Karen Thomas Hacker, MD

Dr. Hacker graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University and earned her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. She completed her residency as chief resident in family medicine at the University of South Florida 's Halifax Medical Center . Prior to joining the Piedmont Physicians Group, Dr. Hacker worked at White Oak Family Practice of Newnan. Dr. Hacker has received many medical awards, including the Blaxall Award for outstanding dedication to acquiring the art and science of medicine and the Treloar Award for excellence in Women's Health. Dr. Hacker is board certified in family practice and is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Practice and the Medical Association of Georgia. Dr. Hacker treats patients of all ages. Among her many interests in medicine, she takes special interest in women's health, preventative care, adolescent and children's health, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. She values an open line of communication with patients in order to provide patients with high quality care through personalized patient treatment and education. Dr. Hacker focuses on treating the whole person, promoting a healthy lifestyle and building a strong patient-physician relationship. Dr. Hacker has been recognized as one of America's Top Family Doctors in 2008 and 2009 by the Consumer's Research Council of America, with criteria for this award including experience, training, professional associations and quality care to patients. She also received the honor of Who's Who Among Executives and Professional Women in 2009. In her free time, Dr. Hacker spends time with her husband and two sons. She enjoys outdoor activities and traveling. She is a native of Fayette County and enjoys working back in her hometown area. Rachel Diann Gray-Nelson, NP
Family MedicineAbout
Rachel Gray-Nelson, FNP-BC, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master of Science in Nursing, with a specialization in family practice, from Kennesaw State University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Rachel worked as a family nurse practitioner in Hiram, Georgia for five years. She also worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, to include orthopedics and neurology. Rachel is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Matthew Bryan Roberts, DO

Dr. Roberts is a board certified family practice physician who earned his bachelors degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, and his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He completed his residency at East Mississippi Rural Family Medicine Residency in Meridian, Mississippi. Before medical school he served as a deck officer on cargo ships, sailing the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, and the Mediterranean Sea, and as a towboat pilot on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers.
Dr. Roberts grew up in Fayette County, attended public schools, and graduated from McIntosh High School. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians at White Oak he was with First Georgia Physicians Group in Fayetteville.
Dr. Roberts has a love of the outdoors and wildlife, and is a member of several conservation groups. His wife and he are active in shelter dog rescue and foster programs, and have fostered many dogs over the last several years. Two of his three dogs are rescues as well. He also enjoys cooking, collecting antique rifles, adding to his record collection, and reading poetry and history books. What he most enjoys, though, is spending time with his family – either traveling the U.S., to Europe, or just playing outside in the evening with his three children.
Dr. Roberts likes engaging with patients of all age groups, and has a particular focus on chronic diseases, evidence based preventative screenings, mens’ health, children and adolescents, and even enjoys doing minor office surgeries. He feels patients do the best when they work with their doctor as a team to make educated decisions about their own health. Dr. Roberts is accepting new patients and accepts most major insurance plans.

Shawnte Monique Hall Kraft, MD

Dr. Hall-Kraft earned her undergraduate degree and medical degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. She completed both her internship and residency in family medicine at Atlanta Medical Center. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians at White Oak, Dr. Hall-Kraft practiced medicine at Southside Medical Care in Union City. Dr. Hall-Kraft is board-certified in family medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Georgia Academy of Family Practice. Her practice focuses on pediatrics, preventative healthcare and women's healthcare. Dr. Hall-Kraft takes special interest in continuity of care and preventative care. She believes in establishing a good patient-physician relationship in order to focus on proper treatment and preventative care. This relationship allows a physician to incorporate and treat the whole person. In her free time, Dr. Hall-Kraft enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys any type of physical activity, including aerobics, kickboxing, and cycling. Dr. Hall-Kraft is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.

Megan Michelle Donald, NP

Megan Donald, NP, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University and her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Georgia College and State University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Megan worked as a family nurse practitioner in Macon, Georgia. Before that, she spent five years as a registered nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Megan is an active member of the international honor society for nursing, Sigma Theta Tau.

Christine Long, MD

Dr. Long earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine. She completed her internship with Emory University and her residency with the Georgia Baptist Internal Medicine Residency Program where she earned the Outstanding Resident Award. Dr. Long has practiced in Fayette County since 1995 and sees patients ages 16 and older.
Dr. Long is dedicated to partnering with patients to help patients live a long, healthy life. Among her many interests in internal medicine, she has a special interest in preventive health care, including initiation of pap smear screening and birth control counseling for young women.
