Angela Allevi, MD
PediatricsAbout
Dr. Angela Allevi is a board-certified general pediatrician who treats children from birth through age 18.
She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her pediatric training in New York at Babies and Children's Hospital of Columbia University.
Following her residency, Dr. Allevi was an active-duty Navy pediatrician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Allevi then spent 18 years as a general academic pediatrician with the Nemours Foundation/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. She was part of the residency program, Director of the Continuity Clinic, and Medical Director of Girard College, a boarding school in Center City, Philadelphia. She focused her time outside of seeing patients on medical student and resident education.
Dr. Allevi stepped down from her administrative roles in 2010 to spend more time with her young children but continued to see patients on a part-time basis at Nemours. During that time, she was fortunate to volunteer with several nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia area. She fostered dogs, promoted environmental education for urban youth, and helped to award cash grants to families who were facing financial crisis due to their child's medical illness. Her time volunteering gave her a new perspective on patient care and truly improved the care she provides to patients.
Dr. Allevi enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Her approach to care centers on being a good listener, getting to know not just the patient but the family, and partnering with the patient and family to provide the best evidence-based care for each baby, child, and adolescent.
