Daniel Island Primary Care is open! We are pleased to offer in-person office visits and online video visits for new and returning patients. We are taking extra precautions to ensure your safety in our practice, including adhering to strict cleaning and social distancing guidelines. Please call 843-876-7975 to schedule your visit. Our care team specializes in Family Medicine and complete care for the whole family, including newborns. MUSC Women's Health is co-located in the same space, offering a seamless transition to Primary Care for both mother and baby. Our doctors are centrally located on Daniel Island at 864 Island Park Drive, where patients will find thorough, accessible, and complete medical care for acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and preventive care, as well as access to MUSC Health specialists as needed. Acupuncture is also offered onsite.

Christopher Bunt, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Christopher Bunt is a family medicine physician at MUSC Health. A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, he attended the University of Michigan, where he ran track and cross country. He then earned his M.D. at Uniformed Services University (America's medical school) in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his family medicine residency with the United States Air Force at Malcolm Grow Medical Center in Maryland. His USAF career took him to Nebraska, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Maryland, as well as overseas deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. Dr. Bunt also completed a faculty development fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill and remains in the Air Force Reserve.
As a family medicine physician, Dr. Bunt takes care of the entire family and is happy to see all patients for any issue. He has specific clinical interests in sports medicine, preventive medicine, and complementary and alternative medicine. He is also a licensed medical acupuncturist, working with patients with a traditional Chinese medicine meets Western medicine approach. Dr. Bunt's first professional love is education, and he focuses on undergraduate medical education at MUSC. He is the military medical advisor for the College of Medicine and the Co-Creator and Co-Founder of the MUSC Financial Success Mentoring program. His research interests include acupuncture, faculty development, clinical decision-making, and evidence-based medicine.

Lisa Mims, M.D. is a primary care doctor specializing in family medicine at MUSC Health Primary Care - Daniel Island. She completed both medical school and a family medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. She also earned her Master of Clinical Research from the Medical University of South Carolina. Currently, she splits her time seeing patients on Daniel Island and serving as the program director for the MUSC Family Medicine Residency Program.
She enjoys building longitudinal relationships with patients. For Dr. Mims, it's not only about the medicine, but being a part of her patients' lives. Taking care of whole families, from kids to parents to grandparents; hearing about their lives, vacations, and new grandchildren, brings special purpose to Dr. Mims' practice.
Dr. Mims sees patients of all ages, helping them maintain general wellness and manage chronic conditions. Her clinical interests include women's health, contraception, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, wellness and prevention, and children's care. Dr. Mims works to help her patients to understand the "why" behind her care plan for them. Some of what we do in medicine results in situations with multiple right answers with varying degrees of evidence. She engages patients in understanding their options to make the best decision together about what may work best for them.
