Dr. Gilchrist was selected by her peers as an Atlanta Top Doctor in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Emory University School of Medicine. She is a recipient of the coveted Fulbright Scholarship. After her postgraduate residency training in Urology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX, Dr. Gilchrist performed a Fellowship in Female Urology, Voiding Dysfunction and Urogynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Gilchrist is board certified in Urology and is one of the only urologists in Georgia with additional board certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
Specializing in male and female urology, Dr. Gilchrist is well-trained in both surgical and alternative management of overactive bladder, incontinence, and voiding dysfunction. She has a particular interest in female pelvic medicine including pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor dysfunction and is experienced in robotic sacrocolpopexy. Dr. Gilchrist has authored several peer-reviewed publications and presented at national scientific meetings.
Dr. Gilchrist is fluent in French and has a working knowledge of Spanish. She is a member of the American Urological Association, American Medical Association, and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction. Dr. Gilchrist is a sub-specialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, a physician in Urology or Obstetrics and Gynecology who, by virtue of education and training, is prepared to provide consultation and comprehensive management of women with complex benign pelvic conditions, lower urinary tract disorders, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Comprehensive management includes those diagnostic and therapeutic procedures necessary for the total care of the patient with these conditions.
