Anita Rajagopal, MD, FCCP, received a bachelor of science degree in general business management and a bachelor of science degree in finance. She received her medical degree from American University of the Caribbean. She is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at University of Kentucky in Lexington, and fellowship in sleep medicine at Indiana University in Indianapolis.
She has a special interest in obstructive sleep apnea and obstructive lung disease, as well as in women's health, including initiatives in women and sleep. She is a frequent speaker at international meetings for the societies in her field. She is a leadership member and active participant on various steering committees. Her research topics concentrate on patient education and quality improvement, with research projects and publications on different topics in sleep medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
In 2019, she assumed the role of practice medical director of Sleep Medicine North/East locations. In 2021, she transitioned to department medical director of sleep medicine for the network and medical director of Community Health Network Sleep Wake Disorders Center.
