Dr. Kitchens really listened to my story and the things I have done to try to help in the past. She laid out a great plan and told me the back up plans we could try if needed. I felt safe, comfortable and excited to be her patient.

It would be helpful if Dr Kitchens spent more time discussing potential side effects of the medications she prescribes or at least providing patient information about them. She did this with neither of the medications she prescribed to me. I was blindsided by a very bad reaction to the first medication. The second medication has specific dosing instructions that she did not mention or document in her notes. She also requested I get some blood tests but gave little information on where to go to get my labs drawn.

I have seen many providers and endocrinologists for the last 15 years for my thyroid condition. I previously saw another CHNw endocrinologist (at her office) who dismissed my concerns. Dr. Kitchens was recommended to me by a colleague who also has thyroid issues. Dr. Kitchens acknowledged and agreed with my concerns that I have been voicing for years. She was a good listener, explained her thought process well, and made me feel like we were collaborating as a team. She also shared possible root causes that had never been discussed with me by other providers. I left my appointment extremely hopeful and optimistic that I have finally found a provider willing to listen and work with me and has the answers that I need.

She ALWAYS listens to me and takes into account my needs. She knows my history and works with me to find the best solution for my needs.

I do not like the way scheduling of appointments is handled with Dr. Kitchens. When I try to call her office at the Cancer Center, someone, anyone can answer the call from any one of her other office locations and they do not know the reason for my call. I had to clarify whether Dr. Kitchens would see me at the Cancer Center or at the Women's Center as I have a driver. I had to rearrange my driver's schedule for him to drive me across the street to the Cancer Center as I use a rollator walker and don't drive and I had a previous doctor appointment at the main hospital. The wrong location was on my chart. You can't get an answer directly from the provider's office if you use this central scheduling.
