Dr Sonnenburg made time to see me during my visit with another doctor in the Cancer Center without making a separate appointment. He was knowledgeable, caring and positive about my diagnosis. The staff took immediate action to schedule treatment and prepare me for what to expect. I was very impressed by the urgency the team showed that matched my level of concern.

Dr Sonnenburg is a very professional understanding person. Explains in detail so things can easily be understood.

I came to the office to set up for an iron infusion bcuz my ferritin levels were low, My Family Dr sent me for this vs taking iron pills which she could of prescribed..the whole point was to do the infusion bcus I have Ulcerative colitis and have trouble with absorbing meds as a history of iron pills causing constipation. Which is easily created with my gut issues. The Dr totally discouraged the IV infusion from saying insurance doesn't pay and I will be left with a big bill. He did explain how the infusion process would go but highly recommended prescribing the iron medication and see how it goes..well Dr iam not picking up the iron pills bcuz I refuse to put my gut thru that and these days patients are never actually listened to so I just saved my breath and I will follow up with someone that actually understands how sensitive the gut is when you suffer from 2 auto immune disorders that causes inflammation and pain on a daily. So thanks for wasting my time.

The only reason he didn”t get “the best doctor” is because my GI MD is THE best! He is the best in his specialty in my eyes though! Excellent care with all of my Community doctors!

He took all the time needed to discuss the issues with my wife and I.

I was very impressed with Dr. Sonnenburg. He is knowledgeable, communicates well, is very pleasant, and I did not feel rushed at all.

The minute Dr. Sonnenburg walks into the room, he knows all my medical history and details about my personal life. For example, even though I hadn't seen him for months, he remembered that we were going to be camping in Florida, and he asked about that!

Nobody wants to hear that they have cancer. The day I found out, I had driven to the wrong location, then got turned around the wrong way on 465 because I believed my GPS. Although I was about an hour late, and certainly messed up Dr. Sonnenburg's schedule, most likely inconvenienced the staff and the other patients, Dr. Sonnenburg delivered the news to me with kindness, patience, and made me believe in the very best outcome. I know I'm in good hands.

Dr. Sonnenburg took plenty of time to explain treatment options going forward. He is very personable, and his competence is unquestioned.
