Dr. Stote received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University in 1990. During the course of his career, he found that working with patients who deal with weight issues was very appealing to him. In 2000, Dr. Stote began doing more work with bariatric patients, and it is now his exclusive focus. By his calculations, Dr. Stote has worked individually with several thousand patients, and has performed over 17,000 pre-surgery psychological assessments. With his vast experience, he now conducts research related to the outcome of bariatric surgery.
