Friendly, and I trust him

I really liked Dr. Hood‘s explanation and time that he spent with me. It was my first visit and if he would’ve been qualified to continue my care, I would’ve definitely gone with him. It is hard to answer some of these questions because I will not be continuing with him and had only had that initial visit. He seemed like somebody I would have been comfortable with handling my care.

Dr. Hood spends quality time with me and knows how to give shots in my knees with no discomfort. He explains each step as he goes making it very comfortable getting shots.

Dr. Hood is a Excellent Doctor! He has a cool! But mellow spirit about him! He's the only Doctor I've been to in five (5) years that gave me hope and encouragement.

Very knowledgeable, straightforward, explained my options, made recommendation, and was thorough. Did not rush, and encouraged my questions.

Made me feel very comfortable. Answered all of my questions and provided me with comfort with his answers. I asked a lot of questions! And he listened !

He spent plenty of time with me going over my hip issue, listened to my concerns and answered my questions thoroughly. I felt very comfortable that the solution he offered (hip replacement) would solve my issues and didn't leave much unknown about the outcome and what the function of my hip/leg would be after surgery.

He's just scheduling surgery he doesn't care about your after care pain comfort or concerns. This is the FIRST time seeing Dr Hood since my knee replacement 11mos ago ONLY got to see him because I'm scheduling another knee replacement. Not to see him after my surgery was CRAZY & proved his lack of concern

I was very thankful for the care we received from Dr Hood! He was patient and understanding of our concerns! It was greatly appreciated! I would highly recommend!

He was polite, and showed concern for my pain. He apologized for a longer wait in the examining room because of time needed with a previous patient. He correctly diagnosed my problem based on physical exam and especially x-ray data. He established a treatment strategy.

He was courteous upon meeting me, knew exactly what I was feeling without me having to explain it. Somehow, he knew exactly what I was going through and my symptoms. He said at the onset it was entirely up to me, my course of action, but laid out exactly what my options were without any hyperbole or hemming and hawing. I appreciate that direct and honest communication. Get to it and get the cure going. He exhibited that he KNEW what he was talking about leaving no doubt of his competency.

Very direct answers to my question

Dr Hood takes the time to listen and his exams are thorough prior to making diagnosis or treatment. He doesn’t pressure you to make a decision you don’t want, he guides you through all your options and lets you choose. He leaves the door open for you to contact him with any questions or concerns.

Took time to listen about my knee issues. Upfront and honest about the steps that needed to occur and delivered it in a supportive manner. Asked what he could do help me and help my pain.

My experience with Dr Hood was not all that great. He doesn’t realize just how long I had waited to see specifically, him. He came highly recommended, but my interaction with him was less than impressive. I genuinely want to better myself. I am grateful he was clear on my diagnosis & explained it to me thoroughly(after a couple of questions). I felt rushed. I also was not thrilled by his comment when my husband stated we finally got good insurance to be able to come see him & correct my issue(possibly a new hip). His comment was “not my problem”. Seriously? No compassion, no empathy for those that struggle with healthcare coverage. I had asked about exercises/stretching if that would help, he said he would get me some…..didn’t get anything. I will research & find my own. I received pills & cream for my pain, but no advice on how to correct bursitis. My long awaited appointment was strictly for a concrete diagnosis, nothing more. I really had hoped for a more personable Dr that was willing to help me correct the cause of my pain. I’ll keep searching….

Dr. Hood is a caring surgeon who has kept a close eye on my complicated road to recovery from my first knee replacement. So much so, that I trust him implicitly to take me through the next replacement with the same expertise and caring professionalism.

I wrote this in my previous comment, it truly deserves repeating. Dr. Hood and all the staff is very concerned about me and other patients health care needs in of aspects. Although I'm being treated for my knees with Dr. Hood, he shows a lot of concern for my mental health and even family issues I've expressed to him. As I mentioned earlier in this survey, after meeting with Dr. Hood, I feel hopeful that I will be able to walk again without a walker. I have been discouraged by a bad experience with a doctor in Muncie. Dr. Hood was friendly, professional, and direct about what I needed to do to have a successful surgery. I appreciate that so much. I feel lucky to have him as a surgeon.

I liked the way Dr. Hood answered my questions thoroughly when I presented them. Prior to my appointment I looked at Dr. Hood's biography online for Community Healthcare. I went from that site to his video when he was with the practice in South Carolina. His feelings of how to treat patients were exactly what I wanted to hear. Given what I heard from SC makes me hope I might return to him when my current issues finally are determined. It has been a year and 11 days since I began seeing Community physicians for this. Hopefully I will get a definite diagnosis soon. I go back to the Spine Center next week where I may begin fixing the problem.

I came to Dr. Hood for a second opinion after seeing another orthopedic physician in the community network. He was very knowledgeable and thorough. He absolutely disagreed with the original physician and stated that he recommended seeing another doctor outside of the network because he did not do the surgery I needed. I appreciate his honesty.
