Michael Fortson, MD, is board certified in family medicine. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Fortson has been in private practice in the metro Atlanta area for over 20 years. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Fortson takes a special interest in preventative medicine and the management of chronic diseases, including the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, and high blood cholesterol.
In his spare time, Dr. Fortson enjoys spending time with friends and family. As a Georgia native, he enjoys learning about local history, hiking, kayaking, and exploring the beautiful North Georgia mountains.

Dr. Fortson is always the bomb!! He is courteous and he enters the room with such professionalism. He is friendly and makes the visit very comfortable. He addresses and listens to all concerns. An extremely thorough doctor. That's something you don't find these days. Even in that he does not hold you up all day. My visits are very time considerate. My prescriptions are sent before I leave and take home care instructions in hand when I leave. I love it here. I give him 100 out of 10!!!
