Dr. Rey Vivo is a board-certified cardiologist who joined Community Heart and Vascular in 2014. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center McKeesport, followed by three fellowships: Cardiovascular disease (University of Texas Medical Branch), echocardiography (Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center) and advanced heart failure and transplant (University of California Los Angeles). Dr. Vivo is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
Dr. Vivo's clinical interests include the left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and Cardio-Oncology programs at Community. He has published numerous scientific papers on heart failure clinical outcomes and the application of cardiac imaging on patients with LVADs. Working with a multi-disciplinary approach, he aims to improve outcomes for individuals with advanced heart failure, as well as to promote early detection and treatment of chemotherapy-related cardiotoxicity in cancer patients.

As I mentioned previously in this survey with more specific comments, Dr Vivo is fun and informative at every visit. Community North Hospital would do well to recruit Hospitalists with his level of professions.
