Dr. Carlson is a native of Illinois and received his bachelor's degree in economics from Northwestern University, Chicago in 1986. He graduated from medical school at the University of Illinois in 1990. His internal medicine internship and residency and his gastroenterology fellowship were completed at Northwestern University Medical School and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Carlson joined Gastroenterology Associates (now Community Gastroenterology Care) in 1996 and is based at the Community Hospital North office. Dr. Carlson is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
