Dr. Kenning is a board certified neurosurgeon at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. He is fellowship trained and specializes in neurosurgical oncology and skull base surgery. As the Department Chair of Neurosciences at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and Director of the Piedmont Center for Pituitary and Skull Base Surgery, Dr. Kenning provides a comprehensive and tailored approach to the treatment of cranial base disorders and brain tumors. He works with a multidisciplinary team of head and neck surgeons, neuro-oncologists and radiation oncologists. He specializes in the treatment of disorders of the skull base, including pituitary tumors, meningiomas, acoustic neuromas and cranial nerve disorders, including trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, and glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
Dr. Kenning earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. He completed his internship and residency at Albany Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Neuro-Oncology and Skull Base Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Kenning is a member of the North American Skull Base Society, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the AANS/CNS Section on Tumors, the Pituitary Network Association, and the Facial Pain Association. He has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, presented at national neurosurgical meetings, and co-authored two textbooks (Craniopharyngiomas: Comprehensive Diagnosis, Treatment and Outcome, Elsevier, 2015 and Endoscopic and Keyhole Cranial Base Surgery, Springer, 2019).
Dr. Kenning is also fellowship-trained in stereotactic radiosurgery, a non-invasive treatment of benign and malignant tumors as well as other intracranial disorders that involves the directing of highly focused and extremely precise beams of ionizing radiation without requiring an incision.
Dr. Kenning welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
