Doctor Mayer cured me of colon cancer more than 25 years ago, and I have sent several friends to her for treatment since then. We all agree that her combination of knowledge and compassion is the best we know of in her field, and our family doctors readily agree with us. We don't know if she's Catholic, but if she is she should be promoted to become a saint! We simply haven't met anyone in and around the Central Indiana health community that doesn't hold her in highest regard. Community is indeed fortunate to have her practicing here!

Under circumstance of previous fire at the facility, I think our appointment was fruitful. Of course treatment & solution is all on my determination to manage diet and exercise faithfully

I’m sure Dr. Mayer is a competent doctor. However, I don’t feel she listens to me, she doesn’t explain test results, and she’s condescending at times. At my last visit, she basically made me feel it was my fault that I even need to continue with the therapy she is suggesting. She may be an excellent doctor but she is cold and does not make me feel like the other three doctors I have at Community South.

Types on computer & didn’t address or look at part of my body I was there for. Repeat visits because wrong scans done & no one accountable or redone let’s wait & do in 3 months instead of making it correct now. I always leave more worried & aggravated with no answers.

I have been a patient of Dr Mary Lou Mayer since 1997 and have had a very great experience given the circumstances involved in cancer treatments. She is very attentive and answers any questions while passing along the details involved in care.

Until I mentioned the MRI results, I wasn’t sure that Dr. Mayer have reviewed the test results. But after that, she was very concerned about the report.

Dr. Mayer is respectful, knowledgeable and thorough. She builds good rapport with her patients, and truly cares about her patient. She explains things in an easy to understand way, and answers questions without reservation. I totally trust Dr. Mayer for my care.
