She received her bachelor's degree from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and graduated from Albany Medical College in New York, where she also completed her residency. In addition to her private practice experience, Dr. Murphy has served on the faculty of State University of New York. She became board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 1997 and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has also served as OB/GYN Department Chair at Community Health Network.
Dr. Murphy enjoys staying current in the latest techniques for treating gynecologic problems, including minimally-invasive surgeries. She has special interests in laparoscopic hysterectomies, endometriosis and pelvic bleeding. Dr. Murphy offers in-office Essure® permanent birth control and GYNECARE THERMACHOICE® endometrial ablation procedures. She is a strong believer in healthy lifestyles and is an advocate of good nutrition, exercise and stress control to promote wellness. Dr. Murphy is a certified menopause practitioner.
When not practicing medicine, she enjoys many outdoor activities with her husband and their two children.

Dr. Murphy is excellent! She is very personable and has great bedside manner. I always feel comfortable going to her and asking questions. I have been seeing her for a few years; She is a great doctor which is really hard to find. I highly recommend her; she won’t disappoint you.
