Pankhoori Saraf, M.D., MBBS, is a fellowship trained, board certified Medical hematologist and oncologist who has recently joined Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center. She treats all solid tumor cancer with clinical areas of interest and expertise in Thoracic, Head & Neck and Aerodigestive malignancies. Dr Saraf is a highly experienced and compassionate oncologist dedicated to provide best and latest state of the art evidence based cancer treatment to all her patients.

Prior to joining HMH, Dr. Saraf served as the Associate Director for Clinical Research in the Oncology sector at Eisai Pharmaceutical company. She served as core Faculty for the Hematology & Oncology Fellowship Program at Newark Beth Israel. She has also worked as an Assistant professor at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) UMDNJ Newark campus. She has been involved in teaching medical students, residents and hematology /oncology fellows. She is currently a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Saraf has also conducted research on conditions specifically related to Hematologic and Oncologic disorders, preparing her to serve the patients in any capacity that they may need. Additionally she is fluent in languages including Hindi & Gujarati.

Dr. Saraf has been great! On one hand I wish I didn't have a reason to meet her but I'm glad I did. She has no hesitation to close the door and pull up a chair if something is upsetting for me.

Very caring, very professional. She answered all my questions. She was just very nice, very professional.

My experience with this provider was not the best. Working in the healthcare field myself, I understand the importance of first impressions. When I met this provider for the first time, I was taken aback when she entered the room without introducing herself. Instead, she focused only on trying to pronounce my last name correctly and did not acknowledge the person who accompanied me. This appointment was a consultation regarding breast cancer, so I was disappointed that the provider hadn't reviewed my chart beforehand. It would have been helpful for her to have some background on my medical history before our meeting. One of the first things she said was that the meeting was a waste of time because she didn't have all my test results. However, all the test results were in my chart, and if she had taken the time to review it before our appointment, she would have seen that. In the end, she did find all the exam results and was able to become a little more friendly, but I still feel that this provider could have handled things a little better and made my experience more comfortable.
