He obtained his medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College at Cornell University and his bachelor's and master's degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami. He completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School followed by a fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute.
