Yasser Jeelani, MD

Yasser Jeelani, M.D., is a Skull Base and open Cerebrovascular surgeon at the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. He completed his residency training in neurosurgery at The Brigham & Women's / Boston Children's Hospital Program at Harvard Medical School, where he also served as Chief Resident. Following residency, Dr. Jeelani completed a combined Skull Base and open Cerebrovascular fellowship at the Arkansas Neuroscience Institute, M.G. Yasargil Research Institute.
Dr. Jeelani manages a range of complex pathologies of the skull base, ranging from neoplastic lesions including pituitary adenomas, craniopharyngiomas, meningiomas, acoustic neuromas, and chordomas, to vascular lesions like basilar apex aneurysms, paraclinoid aneurysms. Additionally, Dr Jeelani manages vascular pathologies including arteriovenous malformations, cavernomas, and vascular bypass surgery.
Dr. Jeelani has a prolific research profile, with his publications being
featured on the Cover of pre-eminent journals like Journal of Neurosurgery (JNS), and Child's Nervous System (Springer). He is a Fellow of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Skull Base Society, and the International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons. He has been invited as visiting lecturer, and more recently, as Visiting Professor for neurosurgical programs nationally. He has served as an instructor for various International Workshops within the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Annual meetings, and regional symposia as well.
