Desirae Sheppard, PA

Desirae Sheppard is a certified physician assistant who specializes in cardiology within Tampa General Hospital's Heart & Vascular Institute. She takes great pride in her work and has a passion for education and patient-centered care.

Prior to her current role, Desirae served as a cardiovascular critical care physician assistant with Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn., where she collaborated with cardiac surgeons and cardiac anesthesiologists to provide care for preoperative and postoperative cardiothoracic surgical patients in addition to her several other patient care important duties.

Desirae earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Bethel University in Paris, Tenn. After receiving her bachelor's degree in biology from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn., she began her medical career as a certified nursing assistant in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. Desirae is currently a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
