Dr. Morsal R. Tahouni, M.D., is an accomplished physician and educator known for his exceptional contributions to the field of Emergency Medicine. A graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Tahouni holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with Distinction.





Throughout his career, Dr. Tahouni has demonstrated strong leadership skills. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Emergency Medicine and Director of Simulation-Based Education at the Medical University of South Carolina. His responsibilities include optimizing clinical operations, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.





Dr. Tahouni is dedicated to ensuring compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and accreditation standards, demonstrating his commitment to safety and quality in healthcare delivery. He has been recognized with the MUSC Department of Emergency Medicine Platinum Podium Award for his contributions.





As a full-licensed physician in both Massachusetts and South Carolina, Dr. Tahouni is a Board-Certified member of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, emphasizing his commitment to patient care and safety.





An active member of the Society for Academic Emergency Physicians, Dr. Tahouni is a passionate advocate for Emergency Medicine Simulation, Emergency Medicine Administration, and medical education. His special interests include gang and youth violence education and preventionand improving interactions between law enforcement and healthcare.
