Community Clinic at Walgreens offers easy access to medical care when you are sick or hurt and need help quickly. See us for minor illnesses and injuries and for help with managing chronic diseases.

Services

Community Clinic at Walgreens offers immediate treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. We help Community Health Network patients manage the treatment of chronic diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and asthma. We also offer a variety of vaccinations, including the flu shot.

He grew up in Wisconsin, has worked in medical research in South Dakota, and received his doctorate in podiatric medicine at Des Moines College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He enjoys the extensive spectrum of pathology he can treat in the foot and ankle. Dr. Heyer is qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and happily shares his experience with the residents and students at Community. He is eager to spend his efforts improving the community he serves. Dr. Heyer loves to participate in the food, outdoors, and sports scenes with his wife and children in Indiana. He has a daughter and a son, both of whom were born in Indianapolis. Two puppy rescues round out the household.

Dr. Tarick Abdo was born and raised in Valparaiso, IN. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Indiana University. He obtained his doctor of podiatric medicine degree at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland. At the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Dr. Abdo performed a primary podiatric medicine residency along with rotations in the areas of rheumatology, endocrinology, vascular medicine, podiatric medicine and internal medicine. Dr. Abdo received his two-year surgical training at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Maryland where he worked with podiatric, orthopedic, plastic and vascular surgeons. As a resident, he received a research award for his work on limb salvage in a diabetic population. Following his residency, he returned to Indiana and has been in practice here since 2003. His interests include reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, limb salvage, and sports medicine. Dr. Abdo was recently certified to perform total ankle replacement surgery with the FDA-approved STAR implant device. He has given talks to the residents at Indiana University School of Medicine on complications of the diabetic foot. In addition, he has done foot evaluations at various community events. When he is not busy at work, Dr. Abdo enjoys spending time with his family.
